A little history about your Navigators:

Ted & Sandra have been together, sharing the fun of aviation for the past 15 years. Over the last five years, owning their own plane, they have found that it has been difficult, if not impossible, to find pre-planned trips to fun destinations where they can share their love of aviation with others.

Sandra and TedTed is an Airline Pilot with 11,000+ hours of flight experience in various aircraft over the last 26 years.  ATP Multi-Engine land with Boeing 747, 747-400, BA3100. Airbus A-310.  Ted holds the following ratings: Commercial, single engine land, flight instructor, MEL/SEL airplanes & instruments, ground instructor advanced & instrument, flight engineer turbo-jet. He has also started building hours for his Glider rating, so far he has logged hours in Maui, Oahu, Germany, & even a few hours in mainland USA!  Ted is a First Officer, with type rating in the Boeing 747-400 with UPS, based out of Anchorage, Alaska.

Ted has been in airplanes literally since before he was born... His father, Ted senior, is a retired Aeronautical Engineer from the Boeing company & owned an airplane before he owned his first car.  So, this explains how Ted was in planes before he was born...during her pregnancy, Ted's Mom, Maris, would go for flights in the Family plane with Ted Sr. and their daughters.  By the time young Ted was old enough to stand up on the right front seat he had a yoke in front of him, and was "becoming one" with Aviation...  Ted also has a love for Radio-controlled model aircraft of all sorts, engine powered, sailplanes, & helicopters.... He has been building & flying model planes since he was 12 years old.  Over the years, Ted has competed very successfully in numerous soaring competitions.

Sandra is an International Telecommunications broker with customers worldwide. She holds an M.Ed. degree in Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University, and has 20 hours toward her MBA at the Jack C. Massey School of Business at Belmont University. Sandra also owns Phoenix Training & Consulting, working with Pharmaceutical companies conducting drug studies through the FDA. Recently, Sandra founded symmetria, a leader in healthcare education, developing Health and Wellness programs for various clients.  Sandra loves to travel and over the years, has put together several successful trips.  Currently she is the Vice President of the MidWest Bonanza Society, her main responsibility with this organization is planning and arranging trips for the group.

How Wingin' It was born...  in 2010 when Sandra was planing a family vacation... it was decided to go to Reno for the Air Races... She decided that she would pull together a few fun things to do while they were there...  In the process of doing a little research & talking with friends... numerous folks wanted to join in... Well that trip for eight (8) turned into 48!! Ted's cousins were very helpful with the whole process... Valerie chose the "Wingin' It" name for the group.  Dan & Paula designed the logo & made the signs.  Jon, Dan & Paula's son, was taking Latin & he came up with the idea of the "Forever Friends in Flight" in Latin in the center of the shield in the logo.  Folks joined in from the East Coast, the West Coast & the middle of the country.  They were folks who... owned planes, rented planes, flew model airplanes, or just simply had a Love of Aviation...  We all had so much fun together over that extended weekend... Family, Friends, & new Friends... that it was decided at the Farewell banquet for the group, that Sandra would start working toward creating trips for Aviation Enthusiasts. So, when we all returned home from our trip & began to settle back into our day to day lives... we also added a little time to begin creating what you are viewing now.  Look for more trips over the next few months as we sort through your Trip Destination Surveys, & begin to see where folks would like to AirVenture too!!

We are just beginning to plan trips, so please complete the Trip Destination Survey to give us some ideas of places you would like to go & things you & your family enjoy doing.  The trip to Reno for the Air Races will be our signature trip each year. We do have some BIG plans in the making!!  It is Wingin' It AirVentures intent to make it possible to find pre-planned trips to fun destinations where friends can share their love of aviation with others.
